Become a Caring Personal Support Worker
The Personal Support Worker Certification program at CCBST trains students to provide physical, psychological and social assistance to their patients. Develop the full range of skills required to assist people with their personal and household needs in order to ensure their contentment and well being.
You will learn how to best provide support and personal care to individuals including assisting with dressing, personal hygiene, mobility and routine activities in accordance with the Regulated Health Professionals Act.

During the Personal Support Worker Certification program you’ll learn:

- Assisting with Personal Hygiene

- Care Planning, Restorative Care, Documentation, Working in the Community
- Assisting the Family, Growth and Development
- Assisting the Dying Person
- Assisting with Medications
- Cognitive and Mental Health Issues and Brain Injuries

- Clinical Placement (Community)
- Clinical Placement (Facility)
- CPR & First Aid
You’ll also complete a school supervised clinical placement (practicum) so that you’ll graduate with confidence in your skills and abilities. CCBST is 100% responsible for finding a placement for you with an appropriate organization.

Funding Your Education
CCBST is an excellent option for individuals who want to get ahead without a major financial burden. At CCBST, tuition is more affordable than larger schools while maintaining the same quality of education.
You may also be eligible to receive OSAP (Government Financial Aid) as all CCBST programs are full time.
Lastly, you may qualify for Second Career Eligibility Ontario. The Second Career program provides support to laid-off employees who will benefit from retraining to find work. Please contact a CCBST admissions representative to see if you meet the criteria.
